The Judicial Committee of the Privy Council is the final court of appeal for those Commonwealth countries which have chosen to retain it. The Judicial Committee consists of Law Lords and some senior Commonwealth Judges.

Our Partner, Peter Laskey, qualified in 1982 and is our Privy Council agent. Peter joined Bowling & Co in January 2005 and is head of our Dispute Resolution Team. He has wide experience in all aspects of commercial dispute resolution, with particular emphasis on international litigation and arbitration.

His work has included international commodity disputes; oil business arbitrations; fraud and asset recovery; handling a broad range of matters involving both corporate and personal insolvencies for office holders and creditors; sale of goods disputes; company/shareholder disputes; advising member firms and clients in relation to complaints in the financial services industry; bringing professional negligence claims and advising on product liability issues/trading standards investigations.

Peter has worked extensively with lawyers in other jurisdictions co-ordinating the resolution of international disputes whether by litigation, arbitration or mediation.
